Who We Are

Washington County Youth - live healthy, live happy WACY.org originally was named and developed by youth in 2001. The Youth Risk Behavior Endowment, part of the MN Tobacco settlement funded the website and a video project at its creation. Youth involved in 2001 helped to create the website which informed youth about depression awareness and suicide prevention. This website was promoted along with a video and teachers guide created and distributed to health classes throughout school districts in the county in 2002 and 2003.

In 2005, the website evolved and expanded with more topics. The most recent update happened in the summer of 2008. The website is now funded by the Local Public Health Grant through Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment.

WACY.org highlights many health activities done by local groups of youth throughout the county. Youth from these groups continue to contribute to the look and content of the website.  See our Partners section.
